Eligibility Criteria BMLT, B.Sc. MLT, B. Sc. Honours in Life Sciences like Microbiology, Biochemistry, Physiology etc. from any recognized University.
Mode of Admission: Through JEMAS-PG entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board.
Syllabus Outline: Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Clinical Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Clinical Pathology, Histopathology & Cytopathology, Clinical Microbiology, Haematology, Immunology, Communicative English, Computer application, Endocrinology, Research Methodology & Biostatistics, Environment Science & Health, Laboratory Instrumentation, Serology , Blood Bank & Blood Transfusion, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Advanced Diagnostic & Approaches, Immuno Haematology , Blood Components & Transfusion Therapy, Blood Component separation , Blood & Legal aspects of blood banking, Recent advanced in blood banking techniques etc.
Career Prospect:
a) Can get job as a “Chief Medical Laboratory Technician” or “Senior Medical Laboratory Technician” at various Central/State Govt. /Private Hospitals, Diagnostic Centre, Nursing Homes etc.
b) Can set up his or her own Diagnostic Centres, Pathological Labs etc.
c) Can join a Medical Laboratory Technology College or Institution as an “Asst. Professor”.
d) After qualifying the NET or equivalent Examination, one can become a Junior Research Fellow or Research Associate at various Govt. sponsored Research Projects at prestigious institutions.
e) Can get job in food and beverage industries.
